Hi Stampers, sorry to be away so long, I took a few days off to recoup after all the shares and card making for SplitCoastStampers….Today – I was back stamping in the studio….and having some fun with the FLOWER SHOP STAMP SET, GIFTS OF KINDNESS STAMP SET and some Card stock Vellum – all from Stampin’ Up! of course….

….these flowers are SO PRETTY…I actually did another card with them and a video and tutorial for Stamping and Blogging last week, the flowers turned out so delicate and pretty, you can’t stop making them, LOL….You heat emboss the image with White Embossing Powder, then add the ink to the back of the flower. Once dry, punch them out with the coordinating Pansy punch.

and here is the close up of the flowers which I colored with Pool Party. The leaves are also from the Flower Shop Stamp Set – I use the “grunge” flower stamped in Pear Pizzazz, and then placed the vellum flower over top with a Dimensional!…doesn’t it look cool together?

The sentiment is again from the GIFTS OF KINDNESS stamp set – I just love all the sayings in that stamp set!…

and of course, I was having so much fun, I had to stamp the inside of the card as well!.

Here you can see what the stamped images look like without the vellum – pretty too huh? and this actually caused another card to be made – I’ll share it with you tomorrow, LOL…

A little Gifts of Kindness – TOP TEN

That Pile of unmounted stamps went down by 4 yesterday, I am mounting them as I am stamping with them, so that means I have a new card to share today….yeah!…you know I love new rubbah!…

So, my first choice was GIFTS OF KINDNESS you will find this beauty on page 83. Why do I love it so?. Two reasons actually, because it’s a solid image (almost) which means I can use it for lots of different techniques, and, it has a pile of sentiments for a bunch of different occasions so I probably don’t need a sentiment set to go with it….two of the sentiments even work well for the inside of the card!…it’s like the “perfect” stamp set, LOL – so it hit my “top 10″ list.

CARD RECIPE:

Card Base – Very Vanilla 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2
Art Piece – Very Vanilla – 4 x 5-1/4
flower piece – Whisper White – 3 x 4-1/2
Modern Medley Designer paper chevron design, 1 x 5, cut on the chevron
3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Trim – Strawberry Slush #130023 – about 5 inches

1 – Cut the designer paper and use your Snail Adhesive to attach it to the bottom front of the art piece.

2 -Ink the Stamp with StazOn Black Ink and stamp the image on the left side of the art piece.

3 – Use the Stampin Scrub and Spray to clean the stamp, re-ink in Strawberry slush and stamp again on the Whisper white piece – when the ink is dry, cut out the large flower and attach to the art piece with a Dimensional.

4 – Stamp the sentiment

5 – Use a piece of Sticky Strip Tape to attach the ribbon to the bottom of the art piece over the designer paper

6 – Use Dimensionals on the back of the art piece and attach it to the card front

7 – Add a large Pearl to the center of the large flower

Wildflower Meadow in watercolor

It’s finally time to dive into that pile of new stamp sets and create….I mounted 4 sets yesterday, and got a pile of stamping done….which you will see on the 15th, I’ll tell you then why! :0)

Today’s share is created using the WILDFLOWER MEADOW stamp set, page 83, and the coordinating WILDFLOWER MEADOW EMBOSSING FOLDER on page 191….LOVE this combo!…

Markers used: Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo.

1 – Color the stamp with the markers,

2 – spritzed it with the Stampin Spritzer

3 - stamp it on a piece of watercolor paper

4 - spritz it again, without re-inking,

5 – stamp the envelope, there is just enough ink left to provide a beautiful image!…

6 – once the piece is dry, place it inside the embossing folder and emboss to raise the water-colored image.

Watercolor paper 4 x 6,
Daffodil Delight Mat, 4-1/4 x 6-1/4,
Island Indigo mat is 4-3/8 x 6-3/8
Card Base – Crumb Cake, 7 x 10, score and fold at 5

7 – wrap some Linen Thread around the art piece and mats before attaching that to the card front

8 – Create a double layer flag from scraps of designer paper for the top left and attach with glue dots

9 – Stamp and punch out a sentiment from A ROUND ARRAY stamp set #129087 – wood #129090 clear and attach with a dimensional.

Hi stampers, I have a couple of fun stamping and storage tips for you today. First up, I was working on a “grunge” project yesterday and I needed some “coffee stains”.

My water glass, coffee cup and my Stampin’ Up! Soft Suede ink pad (the old one), helped me out – don’t forget to clean them when you’re finished, you don’t want to set them down on a pretty place-mat!, LOL…(no I didn’t do that this time, tee hee).

Next – I ordered these new items from Stampin’ Up! – page 158 of that beautiful new catalog that you have a million post it notes hanging out of :0)

These are called Tag a Bag Gift Boxes….as you can see, I decorated mine with the new Stampin’ Up this and That Washi Tape (page 171) – why you ask?

Because I’m using one to store my tape – they fit perfectly, and they have these Acetate sleeves that slide over the box, so I can stand it on end at my workstation, reminding me to use my beautiful new Washi Tape!…

Here is an idea from Stampin’ Up!, LOL, fill them with cookies, and check out those crazy tags -

and Oops, if you check the background of that last picture, you might see the next technique I’m going to be sharing with you, LOL….right after I finish with with these!

I’m working my way through these boxes, containing all the new products for the shares, LOL…designer paper, ribbon, buttons, wow, all the new stuff is so nice, I can’t wait to play with it all. Oscar is checking out the broken box,,,,nothing was missing thankfully, but it had him worried, LOL….

and Miss Lucy wanted to remind you to -”Stop and smell the flowers”, LOL…this one doesn’t smell wonderful – but it’s the most beautiful colors I have ever seen!…hmmm, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo – you think?

We were outside playing in the garden for a bit yesterday taking a break from cutting, so thought I would share some of our pretty flowers!…

Simply Sketched My Friend

HI Stampers, I have another card to share with you today created with the Simply Sketched Hostess stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog – boy, it’s a keeper for sure, I just keep stamping with it, LOL…I also combined a couple of challenges, the color challenge for the May 28th Week at Splitcoaststampers and their Dessert challenge – Paper Piercing! and the Sketch challenge for this week at Stamping and Blogging. Love it when I can combine a bunch of challenges into one card.

Card Details: This time I used the cute little bird, love him, and he is stamped in StazOn Black and then painted with my Aqua Painter and ink pads Pear Pizzazz, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party (or Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Pool Party). I used the Piercing Tools from Stampin’ Up! to add a little decorative element to the edges of my art piece and mat which were cut with the Ovals Framelits Dies, #4 and #5 from the center. Check the top left corner where I added a Very Vintage Button and some Baker’s Twine and to finish off the card, I added some pearls and Rhinestones for embellishments.

Check out the background too, did you see the strip of Delicate Designs embossing, kind of a cool background feature. The top sentiment comes in the Simply Sketched Hostess Set and the bottom sentiment is from the MY FRIEND stamp set, I thought they were a perfect pairing for this card.
