Many of us are hoping and praying this stamp set will move to the new Idea Book and Catalog – but no one really knows for sure – ok, well, maybe Shelli, the design team and the printers,,,,,but they ain't talking, LOL…
Anyway, I was working in the next tutorial today, and my ideas and my brain were not working well together, so I took a little break to get this idea out of my head.
Hope you like it!.
I am a HUGE fan of blue and green together, and I also think when you put a lot into the art piece, you want the rest of the card to be simple, so the art shows through.
Here is what I did to create this.
I stamped the bird with Stazon Black (permanent ink – because I'm going to get it wet), then I covered it with a mask. Next I stamped the branch with Versmark Ink and embossed it with White Embossing Powder
I got out my ink pads and sponges and added some background color
cause I know your going to ask, tee hee I used Not Quite Navy and Daffodil Delight, sponged in a circular motion, not pounced up and down.
Then I stamped the branch again with Soft Suede. Don't forget to rub with a piece of paper towel after you do this because the brown ink will sit on top of the white embossing powder, and stay wet…..
Then I unmasked the bird, I did a base coat of Old Olive on him using my Wonderful Watercolor Crayons and my Aqua Painter (all on page 194)
Then Not Quite Navy, then Night of Navy. His legs and beak are More Mustard.
The designer paper I used is from the Patterns Designer Series Paper STack (page 175), and this one is from Brights, Pacific Point, the card base is also Pacific Point, the mats are Old Olive and Daffodil Delight, and the ribbon is Old Olive Satin.
Hope you enjoyed my little technique today.
and remember!

Oh Sandi, I love the nature walk card you did! Beautiful Beautiful!!!!!!TFS! Bev
Sandi this card is amazingly beautiful! The coloring is gorgeous!
I give it a 10 out of 10!!!!
Oh you know how I too love the greens and blues together. this is spectacular. Thanks for sharing it with us and showing us how to do it. Do the kids want to go swimming? Just come to Missouri where there is LOTS of water all around us. Luckily we don’t have to worry since we live on a bluff. If you see us starting to gather the animals 2 x 2 run because it is going to be bad. It isn’t over yet either. It is supposed to rain up till Thursday.
