Botanical blooms card 3

Good Morning and Happy Friday. Here is the last card in the Botanical Blooms series for Candi.  She is probably still working on yesterdays card LOL.  Compared to that, this one is easy peasy, you will love how fast this one goes together, and the technique used is called Stamping Off.

The card itself is 4-1/4 x 5-1/5 top fold in Whisper White.

A mat 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 in Rose Red

a mat 4 x 5-1/4 in Pirouette

and 2-1/2 x 5-1/8 Certainly Celery run through the Big Shot with the Texturz plate, dots.

Before you attach all this, there is some stamping to do.

I used the "Yummy" stamp set from Sale-a-bration.  When I mounted mine, I cut the big one in half and mounted one on each side, that way I have multiple uses.  So I used the Flourish to stamp the top right of the Pink mat, and BEFORE I ran the Celery piece through the Big Shot, I stamped the Sentiment in the bottom left corner.  I used Rose Red ink for both of these.

On to the Art piece.  Whisper White 2 x 3,

Pink Pirouette mat is 2-1/8 x 3-1/8

Certainly Celery is 2-1/4 x 3-1/4

and 10 inches of Rose Red Grosgrain ribbon.

on your white art piece, using the solid, half flower stamp, randomly stamp 3 flowers with the Pink Pirouette ink.  Using the same stamp, and the Rose Red Ink Pad, ink the stamp, stamp it on scrap once, then stamp the art piece.  Randomly do this 4 times.  The reason I did this, is full strength, the Rose Red is WAY brighter than the Pink Pirouette and it took over the piece.  I wanted a slight difference in color and stamping off is the way to achieve this.

Next take your solid leaves and Certainly Celery and add some leaves, then the half flower outline stamp and your stamp positioner to outline the flowers.

Once finished, layer the 3 pieces, tie your ribbon around, trim, and some dimensionals to the back and mount this to the front of your card.  Told you it would be a fast one.

Botanical blooms card 3-inside

here is the inside of the card.  A layer of Rose Red, then a second white with a quick little flower.  Also, if you look at the bottom of the top picture, under the card, the envelope is peaking out and there is a little flower stamped on it as well.  Hey, the stamps were dirty, and there was a blank canvas – so I stamped it.  you think that is bad, I looked at the scrap pile beside my cutter, it was huge, so I made a whole series of ATC's to trade, using the design of the art piece on the front of the card.  Send me a note if you would like to trade some ATC's!

Ok, well, big announcement from Stampin Up yesterday.  They are going back to one catalog a year and mini's.  Personally I am very happy about this.  As a demonstrator, it is expensive to change the catalogs every 6 months and have a pile of your newly acquired stamps and paper be discontinued, is kind of heart breaking.  On the other hand, it was very exciting to get a whole new catalog, so it must have been a tough decision.

Well, I am going back to work on my March Tutorial.  My Technique for March is Watercolor with Crayons and the Aqua painter (page 190) of the caddy.  Wednesday I had a complete artist block, so my little room got a good cleaning, yesterday afternoon, finally, inspiration came to me.  Man, I so hate it when that happens, and you just get on a roll and it's time to make dinner…….you know how it goes.  ANYWAY, I am extremely happy with the cards so far.

There are 3 different cards showing the watercolor techniques within this tutorial, again with one stamp set and one package of Designer Series Paper.  I will let you know when it goes up on the right side of the blog for sale.  Remember, if you're a demonstrator, I will not be displaying these pictures anywhere else except here and on SUDSOL.  The minimal charge of $5.00 just covers my expenses and makes a cost effective class for you.

Ok, that is my bla-bla for today.  Supposed to be a beautiful sunny day here today so I plan to take Jack for a very long walk as the next 5 days say rain.  Have a great weekend you all and see you next week.

As always, thank you so much for your continued support and kind comments.
