Hi Stampers. I hope you had a wonderful long weekend, we sure did, ….I took most of the weekend off, but I was also working on the thank you cards for my May online ordering customers. They don't get to come to workshops and classes and make cards with me, so I thought I would make them some as a little thank you for choosing me as their Demonstrator. Apparently, I also needed to use every stamp set I own on these cards….Artistic Etchings, Notably Ornate, Charming, Aviary and Fifth Avenue - tee hee…yes, I used all of them, can you believe it, tee hee..

So – do you want to see what I did with those roses?

Here you go.

I decided to make a old fashioned French vintage "post card" type of card. and look close, I truly used at least one stamp from each of the stamp sets, my big shot, some punches, there is even some ribbon hidden under all those layers.

Fifth Avenue, Notably Ornate and Mojoed!

Wow, what a title ey? tee hee. I used so many items in this card, I really wasn't sure what to call it, LOL.

Lets start with the sketch – it is from the Mojo Monday Challenge this week,

Then I got into my UFO Drawer (un-finished objects) for those of you who are new here. I found 3 painted roses from Fifth Avenue Floral (which I cut and layered here), an embossed frame from Notably Ornate, two different types of designer paper, some left over ribbon from other projects, some Mini Vintage tags (love those – and hord them), LOL, a pin from last weeks class and the Vintage Trinkets embellishments, and, something new – How about one of those new TRINKET CROWNS.

I also used the Tiny Tags Stamp set for the little sentiments inside those Mini Vintage Tags, LOL….

I should have taken a picture of my work space when I was finished LOL….This card is a get well card for a friend and fellow stamper who has been a little under the weather, I hope she likes it.

Well, 14 hours later, I got my "deadline" projects finished yesterday – Phew – that wore me out, then I had to finish my newsletter that you all got this morning, so if you don't mind, I'm not going to do a recipe for this card, it is just to involved and I don't have time today, hope you understand – besides, if you subscribe to my newsletter – you received a free tutorial this morning with 4 valentines cards in it, so you're busy anyway, tee hee…

Good morning and Happy Friday. One more sleep until the Stampin Up Regional Event here….I'm so excited, and my friend Randi comes today to visit and join us at the event,,,,,I love having her here, so much fun stamping with a friend. I'll remember to charge up my camera, I promise, LOL….

ok, as promised, I have 3 more card pictures for you.

Each one just a little bit different

As I use up bits and pieces of product

and painted flowers.

It is a great idea when you are creating art pieces, to make some extra so when you are short of time and need a card, you can whip up little creations, dab a little ink on your nose and say "Oh thank you – it took me HOURS to create this card for you", (spoof on the rice crispy commercial, LOL)…..

ok, I have a million things to do today, so this post is SHORT SHORT SHORT> Next will be tons of pictures of the story boards at Regionals so don't forget to come back for a visit,

Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp set – Birthday Cards

Hi Stampers, happy Thursday to you. We are welcoming anothe sunny day here in Portland, big ruckus here last night as the President flew in for a few hours, that had everyone pretty excited….

and there was a brief interuption to the creative mess that is "my blog tour projects", as oh oh, I needed more birthday cards…..

of course, when you're in a hurry, you have to take some shortcuts,

and I used the MojoMonday #161 layout for today as well.

so I dove into my drawer of U>F>O's (un-finished objects)

Whoo, hoo, I had tons of painted flowers from classes a bit ago, so I dug them out, along with a pile of scraps of paper, ribbon, little things left over from other projects….you could call this a "recycling project", tee he…

and if you want to learn how to paint these flowers, I have a little tutorial for sale in my "BLOG STORE"

and of course I had to get some ink on my NEW RUBBAH – I love the little swirleys in these sentiments.

The flowers are from FIFTH AVENUE FLORALS, (page 122) #113734 $24.95 (wood)

and the leaves came from AUTUMN SPLENDOR (pg 119) #116503 $20.95(w)

I stamped the leaves with Stazon Black Ink, onto Old Olive and cut them out

then I just starting putting stuff together.

Card Base is Crumb Cake 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2

Old Olive Mat is 4 x 4-1/2 – torn at the top

Designer paper is from NEWSPRINT (pg 175) #117166 $9.95, cut 3-3/4 x 4-1/2, again, torn at the top

I used scraps of designer paper and card stock along the bottom to add some interest,

and I used my RIBBON MAKER from Lee Conrey (click on her name – they are for sale on the right side of her blog), I used a 13 inch piece of ribbon, to make the bow, then wrapped the tails to the back of the card.

and check this out. Yesterday they were playing and Lucy bit Jack's ear and made it bleed. Oscar came and got "mommy", we cleaned it up, made sure he was alright and kept him quiet for the rest of the day. Miss Lucy has been feeling so bad, she has been babysitting him ever since, poor guy can't go anywhere without her, tee hee….

Here is a close up of the first card, I have also been sponging the designer paper with a little SOFT SUEDE ink, just to dull it out a little. Some Basic Rhinestones in the bottom left corner for some added interest, and a scrap of paper from Nursery Suite Specialty paper (page 172)

Next, designer paper is the same, I added a tag punched with the cute little JEWELRY TAG PUNCH, (page 202) #117190 $10.95 It is Stamped with one of the itty bitty stamps from

TINY TAGS (PG 130) #118091 $22.95 (W) #118592 $16.95 (C)

and that cute little SAFETY PIN is from VINTAGE TRINKETS (pg 187) #118764 #5.95….which reminds me, I have used them all up now, so I need to order more too…..My class last week – LOVED THESE

and the third, all the elements of the previous cards, the Designer Paper is a scrap from SWEET AND SOUR, page 172 #117390 $11.95

and a piece of Crochet Trim VICTORIA (pg 190) #118481 $6.96 (love this stuff, you are going to see a TON OF IT on my blog tour projects and wait till you see what I did with it, )

and, I'm going to share the other 3 cards with you tomorrow, because I have a class today, company coming tomorrow because there is a

I'm so excited, our little Happy Stamping Family is all going – all of my Portland downline anyway),

Happy Monday! Beautiful sunny spring weekend here in Portland Oregon, so pretty.

Recently I have had a lot of painted roses classes, there are roses everywhere. So I decided to take a few and create some similar cards to the ones in the "Painted Roses" tutorial for this month.

Here is the set I created using the stamp set, FIFTH AVENUE FLORALS. I used Very Vanilla card stock this time. All Cards are 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, with an overlay of 4 x 5-1/4. I distressed most of the edges with my distressing tool, embossed them all, because I can't help myself, I LOVE to emboss with my Mr. Big and my embossing folders!.

One for mothers day,

One for a very good friend.

Check out the second layer of the sentiment on this one, I punched the large oval from one of the painted roses….

and, if you look closely on this one, I used my WHACKED embossing folder to go around the edge of the sentiment piece on this one.

Yesterday I took a day off and Ian and I went to the Japanese Gardens here in Portland. If you are visiting or live here, this is a MUST SEE. It is so beautiful, so peaceful, what a way to spend a day.

Ok, back to work for this little cowboy.

oh, oh, you know what is coming when the day starts like this right?

Melon Mambo, Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Old Olive

Yep, I was painting – my MOST FAVORITE TECHNIQUE

and I combined 2 stamp sets, FIFTH AVENUE FLORAL AND AUTUMN SPLENDOR

Why you ask? Because the leaves look like Rose Leaves, and that is what is missing in the Fifth Avenue Florals set (just my opinion of course as I'm pretty small potatoes in the big scheme of things!,,,)

I embossed the flowers in White and the leaves in Gold all on our most luscious SHIMMERY WHITE CARD STOCK

and I painted outside the lines – so liberating, hey, you're going to cut them out anyway!

and here is what happened. We can all thank my buddy Carole'Anne for having to buy the Bride Specialty Paper, she has made so many great projects with it that I had to get some too.

I teamed it up with some Certainly Celery Patterns Designer Series Paper and the In Color Melon Mambo which I used as the card base and the darkest color on the rose. I really wanted that rose to pop – and I think it does.

Card Base is 7 x 10, score and side fold at 5

Basic Black mat is 4-3/4 x 6-3/4

Certainly Celery Designer paper 2-1/2 x 4-5/8

Bride Specialty Paper 4-1/8 x 4-5/8

FIFTH AVENUE FLORAL & DIVA COFFEE BREAK DESIGN #145

Hello stamping friends, welcome back. Today, I went back to one of my FAVORITE stamp sets FIFTH AVENUE FLORAL (page 98). I also broke into a new package of Designer Series Paper, Page 11 of the Holiday Mini Catalog NIGHT AND DAY SPECIALTY. Don't let the fact that it is displayed on a Halloween page fool you. I needed a 40th Anniversary card for Ian's Aunt and Uncle and as she is also a beautiful card maker, it had to be absolutely over the top. So it is!.
So, you KNOW I had to hand paint the rose with my reinkers and my aqua painter, then I cut it out, using dimensionals to attach it to the art layer for the card.

Here is the challenge

And here are the measurements, as I saw them for this card.

Card – Basic Black 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
Mat – Cameo Coral 4 x 5-1/4
Night and Day DSP – 3-7/8 x 5-1/8

Long skinny strip on left, the DSP is 1 x 4-3/4, mat is 1-1/8 x 4-7/8

Strip across the bottom in the background is Whisper White Satin Ribbon 5/8 inch, with the So Saffron thin ribbon from the Elementary pac over top.

The DSP under the rose is 2-3/4 square with the Cameo Coral mat under it is 2-7/8 square.

Happy Anniversary is from the TEENY TINY WISHES stamp set (page 145) and the ovals are the LARGE OVAL PUNCH AND THE WIDE OVAL PUNCH both found on page 186.

and yes Sharon, I did the inside again, LOL

WHY?

- because it's really hard to write on a black card.
- It's an anniversary card so I didn't want it all black.
- the front of the card is heavy (6 layers), so I needed some ballast on the back,
