good morning.  Before I share the card tutorial, I need to provide you with a couple of corrections.

Apparently the Stencils ARE NOT part of the buy $50.00 get a Decor Elements for free.  It is Only the Decor Elements, Not the Decor Stencils….. clear as mud right – yep I know, they are all in the same catalog.  When Stampin Up opens this morning I will phone for a confirmation on that.

and – this months tutorial has a typo in it.  I used the Designer Series Paper Merry Moments on Page 160 of the catalog, not Christmas Cocoa from the mini.  I have changed the tutorial so for all of those who already purchased if you would like an updated copy, please e-mail me and I will be happy to send that directly to you – and my apologies for this.  I was working on two projects at once and I wrote the wrong paper on the wrong sheet….

Ok, on to the card.  I had a lot of questions last week about embossing with my classic ink pads, and yes it is true, you can do this.

Here is How:

IMG_1837
Stamp your image first in VersaMark ink, then in your Classic ink.

IMG_1838
you get an ever so slightly lighter version of your Classic ink.

IMG_1839
cover the image with your embossing powder, this is Iridecent Ice (you can also use clear)

Heat set it with your heat tool.

IMG_1840
viola, here is what you get, a shimmery Teal blue Dasher.

REMEMBER TO CLEAN YOUR STAMP BEFORE YOU REPEAT

IMG_1842

I sponged around him for some depth

his circle is 3 inches

the Sahara Sand is 3-1/4

Taken With Teal is 3-1/2

IMG_1845
Here is another Trick.

Our Horizontal Slot Punch will not go through 3 pieces of Card stock.

So, punch your first one.

IMG_1846
Use it as a template to trace onto the next

IMG_1847
and use that one to trace onto the last one.

You are going to be lining up your circles each time so you notice the punch is farther inside the circle each time.

IMG_1848
Here are all the pieces I used for the card.

The base is 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2 – Taken with Teal

4 x 5-1/4 – Whisper White

3-7/8 x 5-1/8 Holiday Lounge Designer Paper

2 x 4 Sahara Sand – Scallop Edge punched

1-1/2 x 4 – Holiday Lounge Designer Paper.

snowflake stamped and punched with 3/4 inch circle punch

Taken with Teal Mat – 1 inch circle punch

Sahara Sand Mat – 1-1/4 inch circle punch

IMG_1849
and 18 inches of 5/8 Satin Ribbon that I wrapped around the designer paper and White Mat, came up through the slot punch and tied a knot,

then I layered it to the card base.

IMG_1850
then I added the left side pieces.

IMG_1851
I stamped the Merry Christmas from Holiday Best and cut out the words

Dasher stamp
added my snowflakes using Dimensionals so they popped a little.

IMG_1857
I used my glue stick to add some Dazzling Diamonds glitter under Dasher for snow.

and some additional glitter on the snowflakes.
