Howdy, This week, a whole new thing for our Design Team Challenge., 3-d item, my choice, 30 minutes to do it.
I decided to use a template I created quite some time ago, you may remember these from Dec /08?
and I shared the template with you HERE
well, I dug it out for my challenge today!. (you can still get the template by going to that post!)
I set up the little guy with the new time.
I traced my template onto the back of the designer paper I wanted to use Cottage Wall.
I scored it and added some sticky strip
I used the Swirly die to make some stems and the Flower Daisies #2 for the flowers.
2 sides done! I'm loving the Summer Sun Corduroy Buttons,
thought I might make some grass for the bottom.
or not to grass??????? that is a questions – please leave me a comment and tell me what you think?
phew, finished, just by the hair of my chiny chin chin (now there is a fun fact about getting old!), tee-hee
So here is the large one that I finished within the time.
and I did a couple "mini me's" too, tee hee….
So the Christmas ones are full of Chocolate Kisses – I thought these could be cute party favors with little gifts inside, or you could put a bag of sand inside and use them to hold the tablecloth down outside.
Or in the center of the napkins, to hold them.
I have them sitting on my desk, they make me happy, because they are bright and cheerful.
Hope you liked my project today, I'm interested in your comments on grass or no grass? and don't forget to mosey on over to my very talented Sis, Miss Carole'Anne's Blog and check out what the rest of the design team is up to with this challenge, I bet there are a few surprises for you over there!.
thanks for stopping in, have a great weekend, and please leave me a comment for you depart, I love hearing from you.

These are excellent, and very, very pretty! I like them without grass or how about ribbon? Nope, they are wonderful just the way they are. You are such a smart girl!
Cynthia
These ARE bright and cheery; love the look. I think they are better without the grass. Thanks for sharing.
These are fun! I have to try this template!! Thanks for sharing. I love that swirly die on the sides…so pretty! I like the “grassless” one…but both are SO pretty!!
Lesley
ingenious sis!
So fun and super pretty at the same time!
I love love your template that you created!
you are just so smart!
I also really love your colours and the flowers with that die is super duper wonderful
just like like you
love yha sis!
These are great. I like them both ways, but I think no grass is my favorite. Thanks for sharing.
Hey you!
So CUTE! I say not to gas…(uh oh)I mean no grass!! They are precious just the way they are, and any time you need a few more “hairs by your chinny chin chin”, just let me know. I’ll be happy to share mine with you! Do the youngsters even know what that is all about??? Hope your class last night was fun!
Hi Sandi, I like best without the grass. I used this template at Christmas and loved it! It is super cute with the daisies though. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
Love this and I am defintely going to give it a whirl but I promise it will take me longer than it did you!!!
Very cute, and bright and cheery for sure! I vote for no grass. The flowers are great, and I love the swirly stems and polka dot embossed leaves.
Those are way cute! I’m going to have to vote no grass also. They are adorable. Thank you for sharing!
These are so cute, and I like it without the grass. I will have to try some for my desk at work. I don’t have a window and it always feels gloomy. This is just what I need, with a few chocolate candies hidden inside. Thanks for sharing. I can never wait to see what you have new.
Yummy and bright Sandy! Love those flowers!!
I vote no Grass. I love the swirls and flowers. These are fantabulous. Fun, cheerful, bight and cute as all get out. I think you’ve got it my friend!!! thanks so much for sharing and the template.
These would make great little gift holders or party favors…..listen to me telling you!!! hehe
OK I love both of them. The grass makes them look different so I like it that way. I know I have to be the lone wolf. Thanks for sharing this with us. Wouldn’t this make a darling present for a room mate at convention? All of you have a fantastic weekend.

SO cute! I love both but fav is no grass. It would depend on the occassion I guess. But you did an excellant job as usual.
Have a blessed weekend!
Great project. No frilly grass, maybe a narrow green scallop border.
I like without the grass best….
Very cute little towers. I like the no grass ones, but what would it look like with shorter and whispier grass? I like a little something at the bottom to “ground” it. I’ll have to dl your template. That would make a cute little teacher gift.
I like the boxes without the grass. Thanks for sharing the template.
No grass for me!. Thanks for this idea. Just in time for a little event I am having soon. Hope mine turn out as well as yours.
Fantabulous grassless decor!! You just gave me another idea for my son’s first grade teacher’s baby shower I’m trying to put together. I have a post looking for suggestions. I’m going to do these for table decorations and tuck socks, bibs and other goodies inside. Thanks for sharing.
Stay well,
AnnMarie
I love these!! I think no grass for me. I want to make my son’s teacher one. Thanks for sharing!!
My first impression was to use a thin green ribbon around the bottom to hide the ends of the stems and make a crisp edge. The grass seems too tall for the design. Go grassless and if you put anything around the bottom edge, make it a thin line so as not to detract from those pretty button flowers.
I enjoy checking out your blog each day Sandi. You have some really great ideas. Give each of your furbabies a scratch behind the ears from me.

Definitely without the grass. Love them. Definitely need the template. Who knows what Solimar’s birthday theme will be next year. I will also make some for my desk and hide chocolate inside.

I vote for no grass! What a clever idea. Would look darling holding down napkins or a tablecloth outside or as a little favor filled with chocolates. Lots of possibilities ~ love it!
I know I am the odd woman out here but,I’m not sure I want either???? The plane is too simple and the grass overtakes the beauty of the project. How about a trim of some sort, ribbon or a smaller scale of the grass. I love the beauty and simplicity of this project. I bet you will come up with some other amazing solution to this quandary. lololol I always love your work and and amazed by what you do.
Beautiful as usual Sandi, love the layers, the colors, everything!!
Good morning, Sandi. I would say my vote is for no grass. These are just darling! I think having them on my desk would make me feel happy as well. Thanks for the great project.
I’m voting for the “no grass” one as well. I’m wondering how you made the leaves. I really like that shape!
Adorable as always, Sandi! I prefer no grass, too. I’m going to have to case this idea!
To answer Sharon’s Question:
The leaves are from the die Flower Layers w/Leaf, page 199 of the big catalog.
I vote no grass. They are so pretty! You are one talented gal.
Oh, when chin hair hunting, sit by a window on a sunny day!
Blessings,
Deborah
super cute, thanks for sharing
Aren’t you too smart! I love the sand trick. That’s the ticket! I think I will make a “love gift” for Sammie. Candy is a must and maybe a little jingle!

Wow! Great project! Thanks for the link to the downloadable template
I prefer without the grass, even though both are nice!
I vote no grass also. The grass seems to clutter things up. I see another class project coming out of this idea. Thanks for sharing.
This is a great little templete. Liked both but have to vote no grass. Thanks for the inspiration.
They’re both cute. If I had to pick I’d say no grass and maby some ribbon on the bottom that doesn’t stand out too much.
Thanks for sharing!

These are so cheerful! I love the idea of using the swirly die for the stems. Now I’ll have to order that…LOL! Thanks for the link to the template. I am going to have to make this for sure. Perhaps, I’ll make end-of-the-year treats for my coworkers at school.
Blessings,

I forgot to say…definitely no grass. It really detracts from the beautiful flowers.
Love these! You are right…they are just happy little things. Definitely NO grass!
Okay, I loved it so much I did case it!!

Omigosh these are so beautiful, I’m heading off to get the template NOW.
How fun, bright and cheery! I totally say no grass! Thanks for the pattern. I am going to make some for my desk at work
Fabulous project! Cute and quick what more could you want? I definietly think no grass is best. Looks a little less fussy thaty way. Thanks for sharing.
