I FINALLY got to spend a whole day in my new STAMPIN CAVE yesterday. My creative little brain just exploded all over the place, all those ideas I been saving while painting, all came flying out.
and made a great big mess all over those 4 wonderful tables.
More room – more mess. Now, I have to figure out how to control this imagination long enough to finish these projects, it's tough, let me tell you.
Ok, so I had this image I was trying to create, and I just could not get it, after about 4 sheets of card stock, a little light went on….couple of years ago, I saw on a blog, a wonderfully talented lady who works for another company who creates embossing folders, had the same problem and she solved it. SO I did the same thing.
I wacked my embossing folder.
YES I DID>
I wanted to emboss down the left side of a card, and across the top of another.
Hey, I know where to get another one, no big deal (I'm my own best customer, LOL),
and I can't begin to tell you how well this worked.
Actually I can begin to tell you, cause I took pictures all the way through (lucky you guys ey?)
.
You need to score your card, then open it, lay this down next to the fold and run it through MR. BIG> and this is what happens.
A nice little understated boarder design.
BUT WAIT – THERE'S MORE
GUESS WHAT ELSE FITS IN THIS LITTLE BABY?
Yep, get out that Ornament Punch you ordered from the holiday mini, lay it inside your beautiful NEW EMBOSSING BOARDER FROM STAMPIN UP…..and send it on through MR BIG>
Isn't it pretty. Looks so Victorian to me. (oh oh, another idea just came in)…. Poor Jack, his walk is getting shorter and shorter as these ideas pop in. Or, maybe we could run the walk today,,,,,,oops, sorry, back to task.
Anyway, this little science project uncovered something else. I used our Shimmery Card stock for this (page 159). It is a little thicker than our regular card stock because of the shimmery finish, well, it embosses beautifully, nice and deep, and oh laalaa,,,,, the shimmer – absolutely stunning.
I added a little color with my sponge Dauber
and here we go, one finished card.
I think I see a Christmas Card Class starting here…….
BUT WAIT, THERE'S EVEN MORE
Look what else fits inside the Ornament Punch, our pretty christmas birdy from the Level One Hostess Set HOLIDAY BEST (page 13)

Ok, that's my little post for the day. Your Rubber Scissors work great for cutting
embossing folders…..you might want to order two! Just in case you have a "normal" crafting day and don't feel the urge to wack the heck out of something< LOL>>>>>
Come on back tomorrow, I made more samples, this time, Red and Green and I snuck in another stamp set. Aren't you glad I'm finished painting???? I sure am.
thanks for stopping in, hope you find time today to get inky fingers.

Beautiful Sandi! Now if I can just get up enough nerve to make the first cut on my folder!!!! Can’t wait to see tomorrow’s!
Thanks
Carol
OMG!! I got a little woozy when I saw the embossing folder in two pieces — I mean, aren’t there RULES against such violence??
Seriously, though, how cool is this!! I’m eyeing my scissors and embossing folders… don’t know if I can get up the nerve quite yet… but I really DO love the look of the embossed border!
WOW, Sandy…I think you just sold a bunch more embossing folders! You know…I have some non-SU edge borders, but never thought to do it with our own! great job…
what a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
You Little rascal. Now I have to order two of this embossing folder! I better start ANOTHER shopping list. LOL!!!
Sharon L
You make my day! WONDEFULL CARDS!!!
Can I ask what you used to cut the embossing folder?
Oh my! I’m still trying to see where the mess is…LOL. Looks great to me! Your projects are gorgeous!! Wow! I want to be you when I grow up…LOL So clever!
Great idea, Sandi! How did you get a clean, defined line on the cs? The folder is scalloped, so I would have thought that pattern would have emerged.
Thanks for sharing!
NICE! You are sooooooo funny about whacking that embossing folder! I absolutely LOVE the effect and thank you so much for sharing. I will have to whack or cut mine when hubby isn’t around – it would give him a heart attack! *Whacking Hugs*
Renee Winch
Great idea, Sandi! I have some edge folders from another company, too, but just like Connie, it never dawned on me to make my own out of our folders. If only my budget were as unlimited as your imagination!
Sandi that is just amazing and such a creative use of the folder
Fantastic idea Sandi, looks fantastic! I might try it on my folders too. I am my best customer also!
PS. I sent you an email, hope you get it.

Gonna have to try this myself now for sure!
Sandi you are one amazing Stamper!!!! You have such awesome ideas…I love both Christmas cards….Most of all, I love the idea with the embossing folder….can you either do a video or a tutorial so we can duplicate it. There have been many questions, but I didn’t read an answer. HOW DID YOU DO IT????
Awesome!! Love it!! Thanks for the ideas and for the storytelling. I chuckled all the way thru.
Wow, Sandi, what a great idea. I would have never thought to do this. I bet everyone will be buying more than one of each embossing folder for now on. SU! will love you!!
You are a real inspiration! All these ideas from moving???? I am a fan.
So how did you get such perfect scallop edges on your cut?
This is just beautiful. I said I wouldn’t do it……… cut my folder but hmmm, it just looks so nice and now that I saw the ornament,…. I might have to change my mind.
HI Deanna: I’m responding to you because I have had this question a lot. The scallop edge is not relevant when you are cutting your die, I simply followed the part of the pattern I wanted which was the filigree design beside the flowers. It just happened to turn into a scallop edge, but that edge does not actually show up in the embossing unless you have a rough edge on your cut, if you do, sand it and it will solve the problem.
Good luck to you all…….
This is SO awesome! I just found you and look at all your ideas! Thanks so much for sharing!
Yikes, you really cute your folder? What were you thinking? LOL. Seriously, you rock! I love the results.
