Hello and welcome back. As promised, I had another idea yesterday for the
VINTAGE VOGUE STAMP SET
Vintage – hmmmmm how about a vintage looking card is where my little brain went
Then it exploded into this
Yep, creative people are seldom Tidy.
Boy did my husband laugh when he came home last night he said "had fun did we?"
Of course I did, NEW RUBBAH BABY>>>
and when fingers look like this, you KNOW you had a good time
Ok, so let me show you what I did.
Gold embossed the Very Vintage wheel across the bottom of a piece of 4 x 5-1/4 Very Vanilla
sponged it with Close to Cocoa then Soft Suede
you need the two colors for depth.
next I mixed some of the shimmery paint with reinker in Pretty in Pink and Soft Suede
My mixture was one drop of reinker to 3 drops of shimmer paint
and added just a little hi-light to part of the design.
I didn't fill it all in, I wanted that rubbed off, old look
On a piece of Pretty in Pink, I white embossed the flourish design on one side, and
clear embossed the flourish design on the other. Because I could not decide what would look better
I sponged them with the same colors of ink,
this really makes the image pop
next I distressed the edges of my card and the background piece
Ok, watch out, Here comes a SANDI move!
Take that piece and crumple it up as much as you can.
Seriously hurt that thing!.
smooth it back out and using Soft Suede, sponge again.
See how the ink attaches to all the bent pieces, making it look older.
I learned that trick from Tim Holtz on the cruise last year, he is such a talented guy!
Sponge edges of art piece which is cut to 2-1/8 square
and a piece of brushed gold cut to 2-1/4 square
sponge the ribbon to antique it too.
isn't this just dirty dirty fun!
now we can start attaching pieces.
I put the background on with brads. Since we wrinkled it all up, snail adhesive does not work so well.
The punched square is a piece 2-7/8 square, see yesterdays post for punch instructions.
layered the pink and gold and attached with dimensionals.
for the ribbon, I cut a slit in the spine of the card and ran it through.
I embossed the "F" on a piece of Very Vanilla then cut it out very carefully, and removed the word friend so I could use that too.
both items are placed on with dimensionals to make them "POP"
alt="IMG_2404" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e554fa755688340120a72dde26970b " src="http://www.sandimaciver.com/.a/6a00e554fa755688340120a72dde26970b-500wi" />
and here is my finished card.
What do you think? I really like the vintage look.
Have I talked you into this set yet? Sure hope so. Don't forget the Wheel, it has awesome elements in the design.
Ok, that's it for today. All CYBER CLUB MEMBERS, the Project of the Month is going postal this morning, have fun created those great butterflies.
All the rest of you Blogging Friends, thanks so much for stopping in, stay warm, and talk to you again soon.

Now how am I s’posed to be a good little girl and wait til Sale-a-Bration if you keep enticing me with these fantastic cards? My “advent calendar” doesn’t count down to Christmas now; it’s counting down to January 5th (if I can make it that long without ordering!)!
