A little break from the Top 10 today to bring you a fun and really easy card I created over the weekend with the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set from Stampin UP and some Black and White Embossing powder. Heat embossing was one of the first techniques I learned as a stamper and I still get a kick out of watching that amazing powder transform my cards….
Stamps: Regarding Dahlias page 91, #130324 – wood #130327 – clear
Ink: VersaMark #102283
Card Stock: Basic Black #121045 – 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2 and 4 x 5-1/4 for the art piece.
Tools & Embellishments: Heat Tool #129053, Embossing Buddy #103083, White Embossing Powder #109132, Black Embossing Powder #109133, Dimensionals #104430
- Stamp and emboss the Dahlia twice, bottom left and top right of the art piece, cover with white embossing powder, shake off excess and heat set.
- Stamp the sentiment in between and then also emboss with the white embossing powder
- Stamp the flowers again, top left and bottom right and emboss with the black embossing powder
- Attach Dimensionals to the back of the piece and attach to the card front.
As you can see, a very easy card to create and it would be great for a beginner class to show them the heat embossing technique. You could also do this on Whisper White card stock and change the Embossing Powder colors – how about going wild with Tempting Turquoise and Melon Mambo? Wild Wasabi and Pool Party? Or – try embossing it all in gold – so elegant!. You can view all of Stampin Ups embossing powder color choices on page 167 of the big catalog.
