Good morning my little stampin buddies. Happy Wednesday to you. I tried something new on Monday, I played the MoJo Monday Sketch Challenge, this is #71. If you want to play along, mojomonday.blogspot.com
I still had the WASHINGTON APPLE DESIGNER PAPER (pg 161) up on the table, and I noticed that the little daisy flower, looked an awful lot like the little birdy in the FUN & FAST NOTES STAMP SET (pg 54). I love this set. Here is a cool trick to turn this 8 stamp – stamp set, into a 16 stamp – stamp set. Cut the sentiment off before you mount the image, then mount the sentiment on one end of the stamp, that way, you can use them together or separately.
so here is the recipe.
The card is So Saffron, 11 x 5-1/2, score and fold at 5-1/2 for side fold square card.
Pumpkin Pie mat – 5-1/4 x 5-1/4
DSP – red stripes 5-1/8 x 3-1/2(attach to left side)
DSP – thin stripes 5-1/8 x 1-1/2(attach to right side)
cover the seam with 5/8 grosgrain ribbon. This one is Very Vanilla. I wanted SO SAFFRON 5/8 RIBBON – but we don't sell it…..BUT – WE GIVE IT AWAY FOR FREE. SALE-A-BRATION starts Feb 1st, through March 31st. on Page 5, one of the free items you can get if you order $50. of supplies, is a very cool RIBBON BUNDLE in - wait for it – SO SAFFRON 5/8 GROSGRAIN AND 5/8 CERTAINLY CELERY POLY-TWILL. We don't sell either of these ribbons, OOPS, there's more, I just noticed, they co-ordinate with DELICATE DOTS DESIGNER SERIES PAPER, page 8 of same caddy – yummy new paper. Anyway, the ribbon is the #1 reason I waited to submit my first catalog order. 3 more days people!
Ok, sorry, back to the card.
Pumpkin Pie 3-7/8 x 3-5/8 – SCALLOP EDGE PUNCH one side
DSP (flowers) 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 Layer this on top of P. Pie, attach to card.
Very Vanilla 2-1/4 x 2-1/4
Riding Hood Red 2-3/8 x 2-3/8
Stamp birdy with Black Stazon, paint with AQUA PAINTER (page 190), and lid from ink pads, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Certainly Celery. Stamp sentiment under birdy with Riding Hood Red. Mount to the red piece, add to the card using dimensionals.
No you're not finished – there is BLING BABY.
You know this card isn't finished, I haven't used any CRYSTAL EFFECTS yet. I covered the birdy with it. I also used it as glue to glue down my half pearl flower center from my PRETTIES KIT (yep, back into the closet for that puppy – you know you bought one!) pg 175 of the catty if you really have not – better look again, I'm pretty sure you did.
I also Crystal Effected (is that a word), the orange circles in the center of the big red flower on the DSP, adds a little interest to the background. Oh yah, and make a bow from the ribbon and attach it with a glue dot.
Now your finished, isn't that cute. Very muted colors for me, I'm kind of loud, bright, in your face kind of gal (just in case you can't tell).
I am working on something very cool. I hope to have it finished tomorrow. I am doing a tutorial on a very cool technique. Also in this, card instructions to make 3 cards with this technique. I built the cards yesterday, took all the pictures (15 of them). Have adjusted them all and have started typing the instructions. This will be the February "class kit" for sale on my blog. If your a demo, you will have all the instructions to complete this class, if your a customer, you will enjoy this VIRTUAL CLASS. The class uses only one package of DSP, one Stamp Set, and a pile of punches. There will be a paypal button attached to it for purchase OR – IF YOU BUY THE STAMP SET AND DSP FROM MY BLOG - I WILL GIVE IT TO YOU FOR FREE – Boy, there is a lot of free swag floating around for February now isn't there? Stay tuned. I can honesty say, this is my most favorite class yet. I tried it out on some victims - oops, I mean friends, and they loved the class so much they don't want to give the cards away. Stay tuned, sneak peak coming to a blog near you.
Thanks for stopping, come on back soon.
