and, Tuesday I took a day off from creating, and cleaned my studio….mostly because I ran out of room and could not find ANYTHING – LOL – cleaning always renews my creativity so yesterday I had a full day of creating. I made the cutest little gift card holder for Stamping and Blogging – a brand new design – ladies (and gents Hi Darrell!), the video and tutorial will both be loaded this morning. Then, I started creating with a new stamp set, JUST MARRIED from page 8 of the Spring Catalog – not because I needed a wedding card, but because I needed a birthday card, and I absolutely adore the cake in that stamp set – and this would make a very nice wedding card too – just change the sentiment to “congratulations” and color the cake the colors the couple chose for their wedding.

isn’t it cute!….love, love love!…here is how I colored it.

I used my Stampin Write Markers, Gumball Green, Melon Mambo, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Regal Rose, colored right onto the stamp. Then, I cut them out with my Labels Framelits and my Big Shot.

Next, I got rid of a little frustration by stabbing my card stock – multiple times, tee hee…ok, we call it “Piercing”, with the piercing tool, piercing mat, and the Festive Paper Piercing Pack.

Which adds a nice detailed layer without adding bulk. love the clean lines, and white on white!…really makes that cake pop!..

and did you happen to notice this little goodie at the top of my card? It’s created with Stampin’ Up’s! new, SIMPLY PRESSED CLAY and the BUTTONS & BLOSSOMS CLAY MOLDS….crazy fun, and sorry, I can’t demo them until the catalog goes live, but I can show you some finished ones that I have been playing with.

The clay is very pliable, comes white, so you add a couple of drops of reinker, blend it and then pop the clay in the mold…The instructions tell you to wear rubber gloves for this – very good idea – I had Melon Mambo fingers and nails for two days!…..hair shampoo gets rid of it by the way ladies…..LOL…

anyway, that was yesterday, today is a brand new day!…so I’m off to get my chores done so I can play (ehem, work in my studio for the day), I have new ideas burning a hole in my little brain, LOL. I’ll share them tomorrow – another for you, and another for Stamping and Blogging…..until then…Happy Stamping

Hey stampers, I have a cute little card for you today, inspired by my mail!…Yes, my mail and as soon as I saw this picture in the “Brighton” catalog, it inspired this card – you will see why!.

I used the solid image from the SECRET GARDEN stamp set, and embossed it in white on Stampin Up’s Brushed Silver Card stock, added some Basic RhineStones, and our wonderful DELICATE DETAILS LACE TAPE #130966 – LOVE THIS STUFF…page 3 of the Spring Catalog my friends, self adhesive, so easy to use!…

The sentiment is from the LOVING THOUGHTS stamp set. This was a fun and easy card to create, so I thought, hey, Lets try another stamp set!…

How about “BEST OF BRIDES”, and the sentiment for this one is from the FOREVER WITH YOU stamp set, also embossed in Silver, (although it looks black – these pictures were very hard to take because everything is shiny) LOL..

Established Elegance Masculine Card

In keeping with my Masculine theme for cards this week, I have another to share for you today this time with the ESTABLISHED ELEGANCE and TEENY TINY WISHES stamp sets from Stampin UP. My layout is this weeks Sketch Challenge over at STAMPING AND BLOGGING - LOVE the easy, clean layout, and I think this card also qualified for 10 minutes or less – Yeah!….

This stamp goes so perfectly with Stampin’ Up’s First Edition Specialty Paper don’t you think, the font just looks like old typewriter font, and the images on the paper fit perfectly too, check out that little typewriter in the background.

I stamped the image on the Naturals Ivory card stock and punched it out with the 2-1/2″ circle punch and then layered it to a Windows Framelit cut from Basic Black – this one was 3rd from the center. The flags are made from more of the Naturals Ivory and a piece of designer paper from the Naturals Bundles!.

Hey stampers, I have another fun birthday card share for you today. I combined two Stampin UP stamp sets for this card, THAT’S THE TICKET and BRING ON THE CAKE. Throw in a coordinating TICKET DUO BUILDER PUNCH – and whoo hoo -

Don’t you love it when there is a coordinating punch or die, it really makes card making so fast and fun, and this one fits the bill perfectly.

grab some scraps of Whisper White Card Stock, get out the ink – I used Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo...stamp the images, and pop them out with the punch – love the crisp clean lines, and the little “ticket indents” in the corners – so sweet!.

And check the sentiment….I love layering stamped images. I started with the “numbers” stamp from BRING ON THE CAKE, stamped it first in Daffodil Delight (3 times – top left, center, and bottom right), then I changed the stamp to the “Happy Birthday” and over-stamped the center image in Calypso Coral…..

Vintage Aviary Collage

Hi stampers, happy Monday to you – yes, it’s Monday again!…LOL. I have a fun card to share with you today, it all started when I was playing with layering different stamps over each other. I started with POSTAGE DUE stamped in Soft Suede, then I stamped the flowers from ELEMENTS OF STYLE in Marina Mist (you have to look closely),

Next I stamped the bird cages from AVIARY on scraps from my Subtles Paper Stack, and cut them out. I also stamped and cut out a couple of elements from Postage Due, the canceled postage stamp, and the #3, and, more pink scraps from the Subtles paper Stack, and my Bitty Butterfly Punch rounded out the 3D elements of this card.

The flag background on the right hand side of the card is a piece of vellum I embossed with the LACY BROCADE embossing Folder, I also sponged a little Soft Suede onto the back before I glued it down with glue dots. Some Crochet Trim ribbon was added, and some pearls and rhinestones.

I not only love the softness of this card, but all the textures, and layering of elements, some in ink, some in paper.

Two Tags Easter Basket Video

Hi Stampers, I have a fun little 3-d project to share with you today created with Stampin Up’s Two Tags Bigz Die,

I created a little box base for it to go around, did a little background stamping with my Craft Whisper White Ink pad and my BLOOMIN MARVELOUS SALE-A-BRATION STAMP SET, added some designer paper and Flower Trim around the bottom, and created a cute matching 3-d flower with my Secret Garden Framelits. I used the “Happy Easter” sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes for these boxes, but you could change up the sentiment and these would be really cute for a baby shower, or a wedding too. Inside I popped one of those GIANT CADBURY CARAMEL EGGS – My Ian’s favorite.

Secret Garden Color Wash meets Zentagles

Last week over at Stamping and Blogging the sketch challenge was grids….I’m a huge fan, so I think I actually created 6 or 7 cards for the challenge, and here I am still playing with the challenge and we already have a new one, haha!..oh well, I was also still creating with the color wash technique (which I shared here), but in a bit of a different way so I thought I would share it with you and yes I’m still creating with my SECRET GARDEN STAMP SET from Stampin Up – it’s so versatile, it’s working with so many different techniques.

Do you remember the “black magic” technique from 4 or 5 years ago? Well, I tried it with this newer color wash technique. (we used to use pastels to add the color on the Black Magic technique).

this time I used the solid image stamp and stamped the flowers, dried them with my heat tool, painted them with my ink pad lids(Rich Razzleberry) and my Aqua Pen, added outlines with my White Gel Pen – Ok, so my Zentangles overlapped my color wash technique, LOL.. and my grids are made with Stampin Up Square Punches the 1 inch Square and the 1-1/4 inch square – they layer so nicely, yeah!…and my background is created with Big Shot Large Scallop Edgelit and coordinating Delicate Designs Embossing Folder – “sweet”, and I had to sneak in my other favorite stamp set this week – PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS – it’s a sentiment stamp set, check out page 140 of the Big Catalog…I used it for the 4 card Technique Tutorial for this month too!…it has some great sayings.

Here is another, with 3 grids this time. Did you notice this time I’m painting and coloring on Lucky Limeade – this technique truly works on all colors. I think I used Turquoise and Rich Razzeberry on this one. and check out the DELICATE DETAILS LACE TAPE – it’s new in the Spring Catalog, it’s been sitting here awhile, so I thought I better give it a go…it’s awesome, adds a beautiful layer to your cards so easily as it’s sticky on the back, so just lay it down and trim it….I’ll be getting more for sure.

My sentiment for this card is from LOVING THOUGHTS another great sentiment set from Stampin Up, this one is on page 136 of the big catalog.

Yesterday I promised you a new card – and here it is – Got those SUNGLASSES ON? You’re going to need them!…I live in Portland Oregon, USA, and it rains a lot here, which makes it beautiful and green all year around – which I love – but after many days of rain……

this happens, haha….ok, I made this card in some much calmer colors, which I will share with you tomorrow – but if, like me, you have been in rain for a few days – doesn’t this brighten up your life, haha!….

I even stamped the big flower three times to layer the center – gives it a nice 3-d effect!…what do you think? Bright Enough for you? haha….

Ok, back to the card….as I said yesterday I had a little fun this past weekend zentangling with the Secret Garden Stamp Set from Stampin Up,

basically, this is exactly the same card as yesterday’s as far as colors, cutting etc., I just changed which parts of the Secret Garden Large flower stamp that I zentangled

I love this color combo too, bright and cheery…you think this is bright, wait til tomorrow!….haha…get out those shades!…

HI stampers, sorry for the break, it was my birthday last weekend and my 5th Anniversary with Stampin Up, how exciting is that, it’s been such a fun 5 years and I’m looking forward to many more. I took a couple of days off this weekend, and had some crazy stamping time with my friends, I’ll have to share some of our journal pages with you one of these days but today I want to show you something very fun I did with the Secret Garden Stamp Set yesterday.

I was doing some Zentangling over the weekend and it dawned on me that the big flower stamp in the Secret Garden Stamp Set from Stampin Up would work perfectly for this, and it does. I will be adding a full tutorial to the Stamping and Blogging site later this morning, more info on that here

I stamped the flower in Stazon Black and when it was dry, I used the thin end of my Basic Black Stampin Marker to add many more lines. For the center of the flower, I colored in the center marks, and added a few to petals that didn’t have them. And check out the Regal Rose flower, that is the solid image stamp in the set, and when it was dry, I simply added dots and lines over top.

I kept the design very simple for this card because I wanted my stamping to be the stand out, so the strip at the top is 5/8 wide and embossed with the SQUARE LATTICE FOLDER, I then added the Basic Black 1/8″ taffeta Ribbon, and 3 Large pearls that I colored black with my Sharpie.

Lucky Limeade #122926 – 4-1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5-1/2 – card base, and 5/8 x 4-1/4 – strip to emboss for top.
Basic Black #121045 – 4 x 5-1/4 – mat
Whisper White #100730 – 3-/78 x 5-1/8 – art piece
