Hi Stampers, it’s been nothing but rain, rain, rain here in Portland Oregon, what better weather for a card making class with your buds right?

This class was all about Fathers!..Father’s Day and Birthdays all created with the cute DAPPER DAD stamp set from the STAMPIN’ UP! SPRING MINI catalog….I am totally in love with this stamp set for guy cards, it’s a keeper for sure!…and everyone at class thought so too. Here are some of the cards we made!

Hi Stampers, sorry for being away for a couple of days, I was trying to get a few videos finished, and we had some major technical difficulties…..seem to be fixed now thankfully, as one of them was this pretty card.

I had some friends over stamping a bit ago, and Sherri was trying to make a Triple Time card, so I thought I would give it a go, make a video to help her out, and share it with you too.

This technique has been around for a very long time, I remember doing it 25 years ago, but it’s always fun when it comes around again, and you can try it with new stamp sets, so I picked my two all time favorites from Stampin Up, SUMMER SILHOUETTES AND FABULOUS FLORETS, then I had to thrown in my NEW favorite sentiment set from the upcoming new Annual Catalog – REALLY GOOD GREETINGS. Then of course I had to sneak in a second technique – STAMPIN RESIST, LOL..so you get a lesson on HEAT EMBOSSING too!..LOL…

My thank you cards are created with the lovely (and oh so fun to play with), POP-UP POSIES DESIGNER KIT, page 18 of the Spring Catalog….and it comes with this cute stamp too!…and the embossed tags (in crumb cake), and all the cut out flowers, in Calypso Coral and Pool Party. So, I simply grabbed some designer paper, created a card base also from Crumb Cake, and these cute cards came together in no time….and then they went out into the mail

And I received some beautiful cards and gifts from friends recently that I wanted to share with you

Like this lovely card and gift I received recently from Jacqueline. Don’t you love how she used the outline from the JUST THINKING STAMP, and instead of the sentiment, she added that beautiful flower from CREATIVE ELEMENTS – and the Maple Syrup, was absolutely lovely over blueberry waffles, LOL Ian and I thank you again Jacqueline.

and my friend Chris sent me this beautiful thank you card. Chris is the Queen of die cutting and layering, check out all the beautiful layers on this card, thank you Chris. She used the En Francais background Stamp and then over-stamped the seed pods for a stunning 3/d effect on the art work. Thank you again Chris.

and then I have to thank my friend Lynne for this very special gift

A whole book about Corgi’s, LOL…Ian and I enjoyed reading this so much, and afterwards, I think Oscar and Miss Lucy enjoyed me reading it to them, LOL..this is a treasure, created by Tasha Tudor, thank you again Lynne, that was so very thoughtful of you.

and, Tuesday I took a day off from creating, and cleaned my studio….mostly because I ran out of room and could not find ANYTHING – LOL – cleaning always renews my creativity so yesterday I had a full day of creating. I made the cutest little gift card holder for Stamping and Blogging – a brand new design – ladies (and gents Hi Darrell!), the video and tutorial will both be loaded this morning. Then, I started creating with a new stamp set, JUST MARRIED from page 8 of the Spring Catalog – not because I needed a wedding card, but because I needed a birthday card, and I absolutely adore the cake in that stamp set – and this would make a very nice wedding card too – just change the sentiment to “congratulations” and color the cake the colors the couple chose for their wedding.

isn’t it cute!….love, love love!…here is how I colored it.

I used my Stampin Write Markers, Gumball Green, Melon Mambo, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Regal Rose, colored right onto the stamp. Then, I cut them out with my Labels Framelits and my Big Shot.

Next, I got rid of a little frustration by stabbing my card stock – multiple times, tee hee…ok, we call it “Piercing”, with the piercing tool, piercing mat, and the Festive Paper Piercing Pack.

Which adds a nice detailed layer without adding bulk. love the clean lines, and white on white!…really makes that cake pop!..

and did you happen to notice this little goodie at the top of my card? It’s created with Stampin’ Up’s! new, SIMPLY PRESSED CLAY and the BUTTONS & BLOSSOMS CLAY MOLDS….crazy fun, and sorry, I can’t demo them until the catalog goes live, but I can show you some finished ones that I have been playing with.

The clay is very pliable, comes white, so you add a couple of drops of reinker, blend it and then pop the clay in the mold…The instructions tell you to wear rubber gloves for this – very good idea – I had Melon Mambo fingers and nails for two days!…..hair shampoo gets rid of it by the way ladies…..LOL…

anyway, that was yesterday, today is a brand new day!…so I’m off to get my chores done so I can play (ehem, work in my studio for the day), I have new ideas burning a hole in my little brain, LOL. I’ll share them tomorrow – another for you, and another for Stamping and Blogging…..until then…Happy Stamping

Hey stampers, I have a cute little card for you today, inspired by my mail!…Yes, my mail and as soon as I saw this picture in the “Brighton” catalog, it inspired this card – you will see why!.

I used the solid image from the SECRET GARDEN stamp set, and embossed it in white on Stampin Up’s Brushed Silver Card stock, added some Basic RhineStones, and our wonderful DELICATE DETAILS LACE TAPE #130966 – LOVE THIS STUFF…page 3 of the Spring Catalog my friends, self adhesive, so easy to use!…

The sentiment is from the LOVING THOUGHTS stamp set. This was a fun and easy card to create, so I thought, hey, Lets try another stamp set!…

How about “BEST OF BRIDES”, and the sentiment for this one is from the FOREVER WITH YOU stamp set, also embossed in Silver, (although it looks black – these pictures were very hard to take because everything is shiny) LOL..

Dapper Dad Birthday Card & Class

Hey stampers, today I’m sharing a card with you I created with my new favorite “masculine” Stampin’ Up! stamp set, DAPPER DAD – page 14 of the Spring Catalog, and I love it so much, I created this months “Preferred Customer” tutorial with it too, which is hot off the press this morning, 4 new videos and 4 new tutorials…just in time for those upcoming birthdays, and of course, Father’s Day!…

NOTE - this stamp is only available until May 31st – so order soon. The Sentiment is from DELIGHTFUL DOZEN and has been carried over to the new catalog, and is also a keeper!..with 12 great sentiment stamps all in one set, really has every occasion covered for you.

I stamped the watch in Midnight Muse Ink and cut it out, added it to the card with Dimensionals, but first, I stamped the chevron image behind it, and that stamp is from the OH HELLO stamp set. My Designer paper is Print Poetry, also from the SPRING CATALOG and soon retiring,

and what card is complete without a little embellishment? LOVE this “CUTE CLIPS” from Stampin’ Up!’s Spring catalog, (page 28), and I added a little Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon to it. My art piece is cut out using the LABELS COLLECTION FRAMELITS, (4th from the center), and sponged with a little Soft Suede….

Amazing Birthday-Spoiler Alert

If you don’t want to see new catalog products from Stampin Up – don’t read this post! (seriously – some people like to be totally surprised – and I get that), LOL…

So this is a spoiler Alert – I’m playing with new STUFF from Stampin Up!…

And sadly, I’m using a stamp set that will be retiring soon, CURLY CUTE – Love those curly tailed sentiments!.

Squeal – can you stand it – STAMPIN UP GINGHAM GARDEN WASHI TAPE whoot – whoot – I LOVE WASHI TAPE….it’s thin, it’s repositionable (good thing, cause I NEVER get it on straight), and it comes in so many cute designs….and, another Sneak Peek – the ink I used is one of the new In-colors – STRAWBERRY SLUSH – don’t you love how bright and happy the color is, and does it not match that Washi Tape Perfectly? Of course it does – it’s Stampin Up!…everything matches!….

and just in case you don’t get how much I love this stuff – here is a closer peek, LOL…There are 3 rolls in each pack, the gingham daffodil one, is twice as wide as it looks, as I placed the skinny floral one over it. And talk about creating fast and fun cards – 5 minutes – start to finish – no fooling!…and that awesome swirl at the bottom – that’s from the AMAZING FAMILY stamp set, currently in the Spring Catalog and not retiring if you get my drift, LOL….YEAH!

What else is retiring you ask…see that little pink item in the bottom left corner?

or, the little green guy in this picture – Yes, Stampin Up Designer Buttons are retiring – so if you like these little flower buttons – you best get to the Retired List and place your order – because they are “while supplies last”…… I’m so going to miss these little flower guys!….
